Board - Childwatch International
The CWI Board is responsible for implementing the strategies, policies and priorities set by the Key Institutions Assembly. The board for 2010 - 2013 was elected at the Key Institutions Assembly in Addis Ababa, 3 - 4 December 2009. The Board elected its President and Vice-Presidents at its first Board meeting in New York in April 2010.
The Childwatch International Board shall
- Review and approve or disapprove applications for membership based on the statutes and on guidelines set by the Key Institutions Assembly;
- Ensure the execution of the actions decided upon by the Key Institutions Assembly;
- Identify suitable programmes and projects which shall be given priority;
- Advocate for and promote the Childwatch International policies and strategies and promote and encourage collaboration within the Child Research community and between this community and relevant decision-makers.
The board is also responsible for developing relations with third parties. It approves annual plans and budgets and secures good monitoring and evaluation of Childwatch activities. Among its members, the board elects a President and two Vice-Presidents among its members. The three of them constitutes the Executive Committee.
