Graça Machel Report

In 1994, Graça Machel's reputation as an educator and children's champion led United Nations Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali to name her the Expert in charge of producing a ground-breaking report on the impact of armed conflict on children. The report was requested in late 1993 by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and the General Assembly.  10 years on the report has been reviewed providing a forward thinking platform for the next 10 years.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the landmark United Nations report by Graça Machel, Impact of Armed Conflict on Children (A/51/306), the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG CAAC) and UNICEF have co-convened a strategic review of the current situation faced by children in conflict situations.
