9th ISPCAN Latin American International Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect

The 9th ISPCAN Latin American International Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect is hosted by the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico (UAEM). Early Bird Registration Deadline: 20 March 2015

The International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico (UAEM) host the 9th Latin American Regional Conference at the Del Rey Inn Hotel in Toluca, Mexico on 26-29 April 2015. This international conference will be presented with both English and Spanish tracks and focuses on ‘Systems Protecting our Children’.

The conference is organized in chaired sessions based on ten themes, related with the contemporaneous problematic on child abuse in the worldwide society; with a conceptual and pragmatic focus. The themes are described below:

  • Institutional measures for prevention and intervention in child abuse and neglect.
  • Children's rights and legal initiatives for child protection.
  • Consumption and distribution of drugs in childhood; impact and ways to address it.
  • Institutional neglect and exploitation of children.
  • Child trafficking and sexual violence.
  • Prevention and intervention in cases of family violence.
  • School violence and government response.
  • Migration; US-born children, children without a nation.
  • Virtual violence.
  • Homeless children
