UNICOM is an unit which connects the Social Sciences Faculty with the local community. The work of Uni-Com focuses on integrating the concepts of University, Community, Citizenship and Quality of Life. It houses the Research Program in Quality of Life and has worked and collaborated with Childwatch International Latin America since 2002.
The International Center for Research and Policy on Childhood (CIESPI) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de (CIESPI at PUC-Rio) is dedicated to research studies on, and social projects for, children, young people and their families and communities. Its purpose is to support the development and implementation of policies and practices for children and young people that contribute to their full development and the promotion and defense of their rights. CIESPI is particularly concerned with children growing up in contexts of vulnerability including poverty.
CEANIM is a private, non-profit institution dedicated to the study and implementation of human development programs in social vulnerable areas. Since 1979, more than 5000 families in the capital and the regions V and VII have benefitted from CEANIM’s work. The institution’s team is multidisciplinary.
CINDE, is an educational research and development center, based in Colombia, with local, national and international projection. The Center's central focus is the creation of appropriate environments for the healthy physical and psychosocial development of young children.
Fundacion Paniamor is a child-right centered Costa Rican, non-profit, non partisan, private organization, of a preventive and technical nature. It was created in 1987, and declared of Public Interest by the Costa Rican Government, in 1990. It organizes its work along three permanent programs: Violence Prevention, Political Incidence, and Social Development. Education and Applied Research are the key stones of Paniamor works.
The Caribbean Child Development Centre's (CCDC's) vision is to be the premiere Caribbean academic centre dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for our children. CCDC's mission is to provide support for holistic development for Caribbean children through collaborative research to inform policy and program development, information management and dissemination, training and public service and advocacy
Mission: To promote legal, educational, social and policy changes on infancy, childhood and youth toward a more inclusive framework coherent with the CRC through participatory research, networking, educational training programs and information sharing through the use of TIC's.
The Inter-American Children's Institute is the Specialized Organization of the Organization of American States responsible for promoting the study of issues relating to children and the family in the Americas. The principal purpose of the Institute is to cooperate with the governments of the member states in promoting the development of technical activities and instruments that contribute to the integral protection of children and to the improvement of their and their families’ quality of life.
The Research Center for Children and Families (CENDIF) has as its main objective the study of children, youth and their families, as well as various aspects of human development. An important feature of his work is the development and dissemination of alternative practices to expand and improve programs and services in the areas of education, health and development of the poorest sectors of society. Cendif gives importance to the production, monitoring and evaluation of intervention programs and maintains a very close relationship with the public sector and professionals involved in education and health.
