19th Anniversary of the Convention of the Rights of the Child

The date 20 November, marks the day on which the Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in 1989. As we prepare for the 20th Anniversary of the CRC, this year's Universal Children's Day, which fell on the 20 November, was nonetheless marked by significant activity across the world.

UNICEF backs legislative reform to achieve human rights for children

18 Candles: The Convention on the Rights of the Child reaches majority. This booklet is a present offered to Miss Convention on the occasion of the attainment of her age of majority. It is also as a tribute to all persons who have worked and are continuing to strive to enforce children’s rights. It is offered by: Institut international des droits de l’enfant and the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights.
