Announcing the launch of The Lancet Global Health

The Lancet has long been a champion of global health research and the new online only journal follows this tradition by publishing high-quality original research, commentary, correspondence and blogs with direct relevance to practitioners and communities in low- and middle-income countries.

"A new way to access the latest global health research: This new addition to The Lancet's stable of monthly specialty journals is an online only, gold open access journal. There is no need to subscribe or even register to read any of the content, and authors will retain copyright for all articles published."

The Lancet has also launched The Lancet Global Health blog, with posts from key figures in the field, including former WHO Director-General Anders Nordström, and Dr Carissa Etienne, Director of the Pan American Health Organization.

Visit the blog today to sign up and take part in lively, relevant and practical discussion on a wide range of global health topics.

The Lancet is seeking papers for publication in 2013 and invite high-quality submissions on any aspect of global health.

All original research will be subjected to The Lancet's usual rigorous standards of external clinical and statistical peer review and authors of research papers selected for peer review could have their articles published online within 8 weeks of submission.
