The Childwatch International Board decided that the network has great potential as a training agent for new researchers in the child research field. Through such a program, the insitutions in the network can contribute to ensuring the quality of international child research, and also to secure recruitment of young child researchers interested in issues of child rights and their implementation.
A Regional Training on Research Methodologies was held Nov 22, 2009 - Nov 25, 2009 in Amman, Jordan. Around 20-25 researchers participated in the workshop, from different Arab regions (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Gulf area, Oman, Yemen) with little expertise and experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research.
A training course for young Latin American researchers was organized in Colombia in November 2007. This was part of a one year program consisting of three phases. The training is focusing thematically on children's participation.
